Reproductive Equity Now Slams New Hampshire House Budget’s Elimination of Family Planning Program
Today, New Hampshire’s House of Representatives rejected an amendment brought forth by Minority Leader Alexis Simpson that would have reinstated funding in the upcoming biennial state budget for the New Hampshire Family Planning Program, a program with a 53-year history of providing low-cost, preventative sexual and reproductive health care to thousands of Granite Staters.

Repro Equity Now Statement After Trump Administration Cuts Millions in Title X Funding for Planned Parenthood Clinics
Today, Rebecca Hart Holder, President of Reproductive Equity Now, released the following statement after the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) formally announced that it will be freezing Title X funding for thirteen Planned Parenthood affiliates, citing their refusal to end Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practices. Title X funding provides access to critical preventative care like low-cost/free birth control, cancer screenings, and STI testing and treatment. According to Physicians for Reproductive Health, in 2022, through Title X funds, providers at sexual and reproductive health care clinics across the country were able to serve 2.6 million family planning patients. Title X funds cannot be used for abortion care.

Reproductive Equity Now, Lovering Health Center, and Equality Health Center Condemn NH House Finance Division Vote to Eliminate State’s Family Planning Program
Reproductive Equity Now, Lovering Health Center of Greenland, and Equality Health Center of Concord released the following statements after Finance Division III approved an amendment to the state budget to eliminate the New Hampshire Family Planning Program (NHFPP). This program, which serves thousands of Granite Staters every year, ensures that people can access no-cost and low-cost contraception, pregnancy tests, cancer screenings, STD testing, and more.

Today, the New Hampshire House voted to advance a slate of bills that would take away rights from LGBTQ+ Granite Staters, with particular harm for transgender people. Reproductive Equity Now has prioritized fighting against two of these legislative proposals: HB 377 and HB 712.

Today the New Hampshire Senate voted 16-8 to defeat SB 260, a proposed bill that would have codified the right to abortion care before 24 weeks into state law.

New Hampshire House Votes to Withdraw 15-Week Abortion Ban
This morning, the New Hampshire House voted in favor of a motion to withdraw HB 476, a bill that would have banned abortion care in New Hampshire after 15 weeks. The motion to withdraw passed the House with an overwhelming majority of bipartisan support. This vote comes just one week after more than 12,000 Granite Staters registered their opposition to this bill in advance of its public hearing in the House Judiciary Committee.
