Statement on the Norfolk, Plymouth, and Bristol Senate District Primary Results
BOSTON, Mass.– Rebecca Hart Holder, the Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts, the Commonwealth’s leading pro-choice political advocacy organization, issued the following statement on the Norfolk, Plymouth, and Bristol Senate primary results:
“Jarred Rose ran a great campaign. He deserves congratulations for being a much-needed progressive voice for the people of his community and a champion for reproductive freedom. That takes courage and Jarred has it in spades. It is truly unfortunate that we will not have his voice and leadership in the State Senate.
“I am hopeful that during his next term, Senator Timilty will work harder to be a champion for the women and families of his district. Voters across the state are coming out in droves to support unapologetically pro-choice candidates. Senator Timilty got lucky this time, but that’s unlikely to happen again in 2022 if things don’t change.”
