Reproductive Equity Now President Rebecca Hart Holder to Take Sabbatical September 1
Deputy Director and Senior Director of Policy and Programs to step in as Interim Co-Executive Directors
Boston (August 20, 2025) – Today, Rebecca Hart Holder, President of Reproductive Equity Now (REN), made a public announcement that she will be taking a sabbatical, starting September 1 until the end of 2025. REN Deputy Director, Taylor St. Germain, and Senior Director of Policy and Programs, Claire Teylouni, will step in as interim co-executive directors in Hart Holder’s absence.
“The threats to our reproductive freedoms are intensifying, and we must be prepared for the long haul. During my eight years at the helm of this amazing organization, we have navigated the fall of Roe, built an impactful regional organization, and successfully passed the nation’s first telehealth shield law. This work has been profoundly demanding and deeply rewarding. The fight ahead requires us to be stronger than ever, and I’m committed to sustaining myself so I can continue to lead for the long run,” said Rebecca Hart Holder, President of Reproductive Equity Now. “That’s why I’m taking a sabbatical through the end of the year: not to step away from the work, but to rest and recharge so I can return with clarity, resilience, and longevity. Rest is not a retreat; it’s how we finish the race. I’m proud that we’ve built a regional organization with strong leadership and the infrastructure needed to lead and win. Thanks to our Board, the leadership of Taylor and Claire, and our committed team, REN is not only in good hands, but is more than prepared to keep growing and thriving during my sabbatical absence.”
