Student of Color Leadership Stipend
Overview
The mission of Reproductive Equity Now is to develop and sustain a grassroots constituency that uses the political process to guarantee every woman access to her full range of reproductive choices. Responsibility to such a vision requires the meaningful participation of diversity of voices, including those who have been underrepresented in the past. For too long, Reproductive Equity Now has operated without such participation.
Recognizing that unpaid internships are often a financial impossibility for young people seeking experience in the non-profit sector, we wish to lessen this barrier to entry. As our priority is to broaden the diversity of voices in the reproductive rights movement, which have long reflected the experiences of white women, we wish to allocate existing funds to support interns of color. With this stipend, we hope to continue to challenge patterns of under representation in this field in addition to supporting the professional and leadership development of a young person in the reproductive rights movement.
Stipends are not exclusive to any one internship position. Recipients must be able to work between 10 and 20 hours a week.
