U.S. District Court Dismisses Federal Lawsuit Against Reproductive Equity Now Foundation
Court rules claims fail as a matter of law and grants full dismissal on the merits
Boston, MA (February 18, 2026) – The Reproductive Equity Now Foundation (RENF) released the following statement after the United States District Court of Massachusetts ruled to fully dismiss the lawsuit, A Woman’s Concern v. Maura T. Healey et al. The Reproductive Equity Now Foundation, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and RENF President Rebecca Hart Holder are all dismissed from the litigation on the merits of the case, concluding that the plaintiff’s claims failed as a matter of law.
“This ruling affirms what we have always known — our advocacy is grounded in the truth and rooted in a commitment to advance reproductive equity across New England,” said Rebecca Hart Holder, President of the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation. “From the start, this lawsuit lacked merit and only served as an attempt to try to silence our organization. That strategy failed here. We are thrilled with this clear and decisive victory, and are more committed than ever to continuing our work. The Reproductive Equity Now Foundation will never stop fighting to ensure every person has the information and autonomy to make the health care decisions that are best for them and their families.”

Your Options Medical, an organization that operates anti-abortion centers in Massachusetts, brought a lawsuit against the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation in August 2024, concerning RENF's work to shed light on the potential dangers of anti-abortion centers. The lawsuit highlighted a complaint that RENF filed with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, urging an investigation into Your Options Medical’s potentially deceptive advertising, in addition to an advertising campaign that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts launched on anti-abortion centers in June 2024. The plaintiff was represented by attorneys from The American Center for Law & Justice and Massachusetts Liberty Legal Center, two conservative, anti-abortion legal organizations.
