Reproductive Equity Now’s Statement on New Hampshire Budget Signed Into Law

Concord (June 27, 2025) – Reproductive Equity Now’s New Hampshire State Director Christina Warriner released the following statement after New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte signed the state budget for Fiscal Years 26-27 into law.

“This budget is a direct attack on Granite Stater’s fundamental freedom to equitably access quality and affordable health care,” said Christina Warriner, New Hampshire State Director for Reproductive Equity Now. “By imposing premiums on those insured through the Granite Advantage Health Care Program and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and significantly reducing state funding for the New Hampshire Family Planning Program, this budget further restricts access to essential health care for low-income Granite Staters and once again forces trusted community providers to do more with fewer resources."

“While Reproductive Equity Now strongly opposes this budget and is troubled by the threats it poses to our most vulnerable community members, we also acknowledge and celebrate the hard-earned progress made for Granite State moms and families by the budget’s inclusion of Momnibus 2.0. This legislation—which we fought tirelessly for alongside moms, advocacy partners, and our legislative champions—takes critical steps to address maternal mental health challenges, the leading cause of maternal mortality in New Hampshire. It expands access to postpartum supports, begins to address the impacts of labor and delivery ward closures, and strengthens workforce protections for moms.

“We will continue to fight for equitable health care access for every Granite Stater—and we will hold accountable those who voted to strip that care away.”
