Reproductive Equity Now Sets the Record Straight on Candidates’ Repro Leadership in Plymouth & Barnstable Senate Race

BOSTON (October 9, 2024) – Reproductive Equity Now President Rebecca Hart Holder released the following statement today after the Muratore for State Senate campaign released an email that incorrectly states that State Representative Mathew Muratore voted to codify the right to abortion in Massachusetts state law. Murratore voted against the ROE Act in 2020, which codified abortion rights in the Commonwealth.

“State Representative Dylan Fernandes has been there with us on every key vote, from helping to pass the ROE Act, which codified the right to abortion in Massachusetts, to the post-Dobbs shield law, which took historic steps to protect abortion providers and patients. Meanwhile, Rep. Fernandes’s opponent, State Representative Mathew Muratore, voted against codifying the right to an abortion in Massachusetts law,” said Rebecca Hart Holder, President of Reproductive Equity Now. “There is a reason Reproductive Equity Now is standing with Dylan Fernandes in this race. We know who we can trust to take proactive action to protect our reproductive freedom this Election Day. It’s critical we send Dylan to the State Senate where he will be a true champion for reproductive equity.”
