With Abortion on the Ballot, Reproductive Equity Now Endorses Kim Driscoll and Andrea Campbell for Statewide Office

BOSTON (September 15, 2022) – With abortion access at stake this November, Reproductive Equity Now is today endorsing two candidates for statewide office: Kim Driscoll for Lieutenant Governor and Andrea Campbell for Attorney General. These leaders have demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing reproductive equity throughout the Commonwealth, and will lead at this moment of crisis with creative, bold, and unequivocally pro-choice policies.

Kim Driscoll for Lieutenant Governor

“Abortion is on the ballot this November, even here in Massachusetts. Kim Driscoll understands what is at stake for abortion care in our Commonwealth and is the visionary leader we need to expand access to reproductive health care at this moment of crisis,” said Rebecca Hart Holder, Executive Director of Reproductive Equity Now. “From implementing comprehensive sex education in Salem schools, to proposing an ordinance to build upon the state’s work and protect abortion providers in the City, Kim’s record of fighting for equitable and inclusive care will be invaluable in statewide office. She is unafraid to stand up to nationwide attacks on bodily autonomy and will make an excellent Lieutenant Governor. We’re proud to endorse the Healey-Driscoll ticket.”

“I am honored to receive Reproductive Equity Now's endorsement in this campaign. With increasing attacks at the national level on abortion rights and reproductive health care, Massachusetts needs to close gaps in access and fight back to ensure every person can access the health care they deserve,” said Mayor Kim Driscoll, Democratic nominee for Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor. “As Mayor of Salem, I have championed abortion rights and reproductive health initiatives and the Healey-Driscoll administration is committed to ensuring every person has the freedom to make decisions about their own bodies.”

Andrea Campbell for Attorney General

“At this moment of crisis, we need to elect leaders to statewide office who will work to ensure equitable access to reproductive health care for every person—regardless of race, income, or identity,” said Rebecca Hart Holder, Executive Director of Reproductive Equity Now. “Andrea Campbell has spent her career advocating for abortion and other reproductive health protections for all, working to make services more affordable and accessible, and ensuring that every person has the ability to raise healthy and happy families, if they so choose. We know Andrea will lead with boldness and conviction in the Attorney General’s office, and we look forward to the work we will do together.”

“I am proud to have the support of Reproductive Equity Now and look forward to collaborating and working in partnership to protect our reproductive rights. As Attorney General, I will work hard to ensure all, including those in our communities of color and rural communities, have access to critical reproductive health care services, protect patients and providers from prosecution, penalize fake abortion clinics who spread misinformation and make sure Massachusetts continues to take the lead on these issues,” said Andrea Campbell, Democratic nominee for Massachusetts Attorney General.
