Reproductive Equity Now Endorses Diana DiZoglio for Massachusetts State Auditor
Emphasizes partnership with Auditor’s Office to fully implement reproductive health laws
BOSTON (October 14, 2022) – Reproductive Equity Now today endorsed Diana DiZoglio for Massachusetts State Auditor. DiZoglio will use the power of the Auditor’s office to advance reproductive equity across Massachusetts and ensure the state fully implements laws to expand reproductive health, rights, and access to care.
“Massachusetts has stepped up to meet this moment of crisis by passing bold and unequivocally pro-reproductive freedom policy. Now, we need an auditor who will ensure the state follows through and fully implements our historic reproductive health laws,” said Rebecca Hart Holder, executive director of Reproductive Equity Now. “Diana DiZoglio will be that champion in the Auditor’s Office to ensure the state fully realizes the intent of the 2017 ACCESS law, the insurance mandates for abortion care, and protections for providers of gender-affirming and reproductive health care. We know Diana will lead with boldness, transparency, and conviction, and we look forward to our partnership.”
“We need fierce, unrelenting advocates for women’s rights in every office – especially our statewide offices,” said Diana DiZoglio, candidate for State Auditor. “I have the proven track record and proven voting record of standing up for women in every area of state government - from ensuring abortion access, to preventing sexual harassment, to equal pay, to domestic violence prevention and support services. I will be the unwavering ally women across the Commonwealth need in their corner, and a dedicated partner to Reproductive Equity Now.”
DiZoglio received an ‘A’ rating from Reproductive Equity Now for the last full legislative session. She voted for the ROE Act to codify the right to abortion into state law, in addition to the latest reproductive health law to expand access to care and protect providers following the Dobbs decision. DiZoglio also supported the allocation of $8 million in state funding to reimburse family planning clinics after Donald Trump’s Title X gag rule went into effect, and $2 million in the FY2023 budget for abortion access and abortion funds.
