Introducing Our 2023 Honorees
Attorney General
Andrea Campbell
We’ll hear from these incredible champions for reproductive equity at our 50th Anniversary Gala on June 6th.
We are proud to honor Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell’s deep, lifelong commitment to reproductive justice at Reproductive Equity Now’s 50th Anniversary Gala. In the wake of the Dobbs decision, Attorney General Campbell has used her office to protect Massachusetts patients and providers from hostile out-of-state litigation, begin standing up a Reproductive Justice Unit to advance her reproductive rights agenda, fight to preserve access to medication abortion, and team up with Reproductive Equity Now to launch the Abortion Legal Hotline. From her early and dedicated advocacy for the ROE Act to her work to address so-called “crisis pregnancy centers,” time and time again, Attorney General Campbell has stood with us in the fight for reproductive equity for all.
Dallas Ducar
President & CEO of Transhealth
Ellen Paradise Fisher Award for Activism in Action Recipient
Dallas Ducar, NP, FAAN, fights for the ability of all patients to be seen, heard, and affirmed, and we are proud to honor her as the Ellen Paradise Fisher Award Recipient at this year's Reproductive Equity Now Gala. As the founding President and CEO of Transhealth, a multidisciplinary healthcare center that cares for over 1,700 transgender and gender-diverse patients across New England, she is working to create affirming health care by fostering freedom, empowering patients, creating more ethical systems, and restoring a community focus back to clinical care. Dallas has helped advise local, regional, and national elected leaders in best practices and policies for gender-affirming health care, including advocating for protections for gender-affirming care providers in Massachusetts and continues to push the needle of justice forward daily.
Kate Dineen
Reproductive Rights Advocate
In addition to serving as the CEO and President of A Better City, Kate Dineen is a leading reproductive rights advocate in the Commonwealth. After learning that her son had suffered a catastrophic stroke in utero, Kate was forced to travel 500 miles from Boston to Bethesda, Maryland, and pay upwards of $10,000 out of pocket, to receive compassionate abortion care later in pregnancy. She has since worked with advocates and lawmakers to change Massachusetts state law to ensure that no one must leave the state for care at any point in their pregnancy. Kate’s work to expand access to abortion care throughout pregnancy was also recognized by the Boston Globe, who named Kate as a 2022 Bostonian of the Year Honorable Mention.
